Who are we and what do we do? 

Leadster is a company based in Brazil, that provides technological solutions dedicated to make communication easier throughout websites all over the Internet. We create and implement chat tools with virtual assistants, commonly known as those dialog boxes used to ask questions or seek for assistance when browsing the Internet, as in the example below:

How did your personal data reach us? 

Your personal data can reach us if you exchange information with other companies by engaging in chat dialogues with virtual assistants provided in their websites.

As a service provider, we only provide the technical solutions to our clients, which includes data collection of chat dialogues and data storage. Despite we may keep your personal data stored with us (as long as you reveal this kind of information in a chat dialogue), we do that for limited purposes as we do not have any interest in your personal information.

Thus, we may keep your personal data it to fulfill our contractual obligations with our clients, which is why we need access to your information, as we store it so that the company whose site you made contact with can better communicate with you.

You may ask yourself: “Do I need to accept Leadster's Privacy Policy?” No! You do not need to click on any checkboxes or reply “I agree to the Privacy Policy”, or give any form of consent to us.

This Privacy Policy’s main purpose is to inform you that we have some personal data that is shared with us by companies that use our services and to provide information about how we process your personal information as well as your rights as a data subject.

Before you start a conversation with a virtual assistant via chat, make sure the company whose chat you are about to enter asks for your consent to share your data with us. Once you start revealing your information via chat dialog boxes provided by Leadster, data collection and storage will take place automatically.

How we process your data and for which purposes 

According to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Leadster is considered as a "data processor", which means we only have your data with us to serve other companies you have made contact with. These are the companies that have direct contact with you (considered as “data controller”) and have interest in your personal information.

Leadster only collect and stores the data received from you to provide our services for the companies that you have contacted via chat.

Leadster does not use your data for any other purpose. We don't advertise your data, share it with third parties, or sell your data. We only keep it stored so that the company you contacted via chat can have access to the conversation and information that you transmitted and, thus, attend you and your requests.

What kind of data we have about you

Leadster only stores the data that you may have informed via chat, which may vary according to.

As we do not define the personal data we have about you, the types of personal data may vary according to: 

  • the data that the accessed website intends to collect about you; and
  • the data that you provide via chat, during the conversation with the virtual assistant.

We advise you not sharing any sensitive personal information (such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical convictions, union affiliation, genetic, biometric or data relating to health or to sex life or sexual orientation) via chat.

If this kind of data is required, the company should ask for your specific consent before collecting these data, as well as to share them with us.

How long we will keep your data stored

Leadster will keep your data stored as long as the controller (that is, the company that owns the website with which you made contact via chat) requests, or until you directly request us to delete your data.

In some cases, we will need to validate data deletion requests with the controller, in order to fulfill your request. Additional information may be requested in this procedure, to ensure security to you and to your data.

Who we may share your personal data with

We want to reinforce our commitment with your privacy stating that Leadster does not sell or share any information that may identify you with other companies, organizations or individuals.

However, in order for us to provide our services in the best possible way, we may share certain information and personal data with third parties in the following cases:

  • Google Cloud Platform - T.I.
    - Servers and Cloud Data Storage Service. Whenever you enter your data in a conversation, it will be processed and stored by our servers which are hosted by Google.

    - Mailing services that we use to send the information collected during chat conversation to the company's email addresses.

What are your rights as a data subject

Your rights and would like to point out that, under the law, you have the right to request:

  • Transparent information and communication about personal data processed by us;
  • Confirmation that your data is being processed;
  • Free access to your own personal data;
  • Rectification of inaccurate personal data;
  • Erasure (‘right to be forgotten’);
  • Restriction of processing, if data is inaccurate, no longer needed for the purposes of the processing, or if the processing is unlawful;
  • Portability of personal data;
